Why Endeavor

Something can be an endeavor for us to get through, we can also endeavor to do something. Neither of these are expected to be easy, and yet we can still choose to pursue them in the interest of reaching the other side of obstacles that may, at times, feel impossible to overcome.

There are some experiences we may boldly seek out with childlike enthusiasm and a seemingly impenetrable belief in our capacity to succeed.

We may also be faced with experiences we would never choose for ourselves, if given the option, that challenge us in ways we may never have imagined we could endure.

Beginning or resuming therapy is a choice. It is an opportunity to make an informed decision with agency to embark on an endeavor. Your endeavor may be in the interest of recovery, repair, growth, empowerment, to increase your agency, deepen clarity and insight into yourself and your most significant relationships, to regain a tangible sense of hope, or countless other significant personal reasons.

Whether you are seeking individual therapy or couple therapy, I will walk alongside you through every step of the process from your first call to our last session. The most important part of this decision is that it is yours to make and you will not be alone as you progress through your endeavor.

Meet The therapist

I did not always know I wanted to be a therapist, but I have always been certain I wanted to become part of a helping profession. My path to this field was not direct but rather full of obstacles and triumphs of all kinds. Some of these redirected long held plans I had for myself, some gave me opportunities I never would have considered otherwise, some taught me more about myself, what I am capable of overcoming and, more importantly, why I chose to continue toward this or any other path.

My lived experiences and educational background and training have provided me with a profound understanding that we, as humans, need each other. Stressors and hardships become immensely heavier when we are isolated and forced to carry them alone. When we can break down barriers to connection and learn how to ask for, offer, and accept meaningful support from each other, the worst aspects of our lives become easier to navigate, and the best parts become even brighter.

My goal as a therapist is to facilitate an environment where clients feel welcome and able to practice being and becoming the most authentic versions of themselves. My focus is on understanding you, your lived experiences, the present and past factors that shape how you view yourself and your most significant relationships, and the things that get in the way of living your daily life and connecting with your most important people. My role as your therapist is not to label, criticize, judge, or give advice, and I do not have all the answers. What I will provide is empathy, compassion, honesty, curiosity, access the knowledge I have acquired through my education and training, and even some humor at times. Most importantly, my role as your therapist is to walk alongside you though your process.
